Dear Spectrum Students and Families,
As of this week, Monroe County Executive Adam Bello and Public Health Commissioner Dr. Michael Mendoza is recommending all residents, vaccinated and unvaccinated, begin wearing masks in all public indoor facilities, consistent with current guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Spectrum continues to prioritize the ongoing health and safety of our team, students, caregivers, and community. In response to the most recent regional and national guidance, Spectrum has made the following updates to our safety guidelines:
Starting Tuesday, August 3, 2021, all individuals must be masked at all times while onsite at the Spectrum clinic. Masking is mandatory for all, regardless of vaccination status.
We will not be conducting health screenings or temperature checks. We continue to ask that you please cancel or reschedule your appointment if you are feeling unwell. To ensure accessible options for all of our students, our team continues to offer virtual services as an ongoing service method.
Our waiting room remains open for students and caregivers. Please note that while we are happy to have students wait in our lobby for transportation, we cannot guarantee direct monitoring by our front office staff.
We recognize the challenge that masking presents challenges for members of our community, and encourage any students that experience obstacles to accessing in-person services due to masking requirements discuss their needs with their Spectrum team member directly to explore the options we have available.
Navigating the ongoing changes to health and safety guidelines has been a unique and trying challenge for our team, students, caregivers, and community. We appreciate your continued support, patience, and flexibility, and will continue to reflect the prioritization of the health and safety of our Spectrum community in our practices as an organization.
