Spectrum Students, Families, and Community Members,

Thank you for your continued support as we navigate best next steps for our reopening. In the interest of full transparency, it has been difficult to determine the best course of action given the limited information available to us — as a business and creative arts professionals — regarding best practices. We know that our students, team members, and families have placed their trust in us to ensure that we are operating safely, and it’s a responsibility we do not take lightly.

Based on the results from our community survey, we have made the difficult decision to postpone our in-person reopening until September. We know many of our students are anxious to return to in-person services, but we are also aware of the high levels of concern around all that is still unknown about this virus. This most recent decision was a difficult one for us to make. We would love to nothing more than to reconnect in-person with our students, but we also are acutely aware of the inherent risks in doing so, especially as Covid cases continue to be prevalent across the country. We plan to continue to offer virtual services on an ongoing basis for the foreseeable future, and feel fortunate that this platform has created consistent, safe, and meaningful access to the arts, and has cultivated experiences that we know hold so much personal value.

Our Spectrum team is committed to working with you on finding accessible, engaging ways to continue to meet virtually, and we will continue to offer virtual options even after our eventual reopening for anyone who wishes to continue in that format. Thank you for being a part of this important dialogue, and for openly sharing your thoughts with us as we navigate these next steps. We are grateful to be part of an amazing community that has always provided us with so much care and support.
