1. Guitar Lullaby- Ricardo Cobo
This relaxing guitar CD is sophisticated and calming. I often use it in movement warm-ups or as a recommendation for clients to unwind and prepare for rest/sleep. It is one of my go-to CD’s when I need a whole CD of tranquil tracks to relax to myself.
2. Classic Williams: Romance of Guitar- John Williams
Gorgeous tracks with interesting arrangements of classical repertoire. Very lulling, yet keeps the listener and brain in an exploratory state of relaxation.
3. Healing Crystal & Tibetan Bowls- Danny Becher
Contains 3 tracks that bring the listener to an altered state of consciousness. Two tracks divide up the chakras; one contains tones and sounds for root to heart, the other for heart to crown. “The Sacred Body” encompasses a variety of tones and tambours. Great for meditation and deep sleep.
4. Theta Waves Binaural Beats Isochronic Tones Brainwaive Entrainment- Jupiter Productions
I have one of those brains that never stops, even in sleep I dream extensively and what feels like the whole night. The different tracks on this CD have different tones and sound waves that entrain brainwaves. It is one of the few CDs that actually slow down my active brain.
5. Tune Your Brain with Mozart: Relax- Mozart
The beautiful and organizing music of Mozart is great for meditation, relaxation, or movement experiences.
6. Meditation: Classical Relaxation Volume 5- Various Artists
One of the first CDs I ever purchased. I continue to use the beautiful classical pieces found on the CD for wellness and for self-relaxation.
7. Llama- Silvia Perez Cruz/Ravid Goldschmidt
One of the few CD’s I use that contain vocals. The music of the HANG instrument is well expressed and the music is almost minimalist in ways. The music is calming and brings a sense of inner awareness.
8. Harpmodes- Ruth Cunningham
I have always been a fan of harp and voice together to produce an almost angelic experience in sound. The use of different modes is transfixing, with each track producing few different experiences and emotions. For those times that I am unable to bring my harp with me and vocally improvise through various modes, I bring this CD.
9 . Graces of Asia- Various Artists
I often go to this CD for wellness clients when we are first warming-up our body and breath. The music is very focusing and calming with a hint of the mystic cultures of Asia.
10. In the Heart of the Moon- Ali Farka Toure & Toumani Dibate
This acoustic gem contains many musical flavors and colors. The tracks are stunning with a simple sophisication and understanding the instruments played to evoke a setting of ethnic and cultural awakening.
