Our school-based music therapy team draws from a variety of clinical backgrounds and techniques to provide highly unique and individualized music-centered experiences to the therapy space. Whether seeing students individually, in a small group, or in the larger classroom setting, our team of music therapists are passionate about creating accessible and inclusive environments through the use of music. A guiding principle of our team’s approach to music therapy is innovation, drawing upon our innate creativity as musicians to create original music materials for use with our students in sessions, and identifying ways to incorporate technology into our practice to provide meaningful pathways for engaging with skill development and growth. We strive for excellence in every part of the therapeutic process, from our communication with our educational team, caregivers, and districts to the care and attention we give to our students and their unique therapeutic journey.

Each of our music therapists have completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree program in Music Therapy from an accredited college program, and have completed the required 1,100 hours of clinical study in an internship program prior to becoming eligible for board-certification. All of our music therapists are board-certified through the national Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT), and have received the credential MT-BC (Music Therapist – Board-Certified). We value and understand the importance of our team’s growth and development as clinicians and offer all of our music therapists ongoing 1:1 supervision, 1:1 skills coaching, and peer supervision, in addition to regular professional development education and training.

Our Schools Division is operated and managed by Noa Ferguson, a board-certified music therapist with 12 years of hands-on experience working in schools as a clinician and administrator. As of 2023, we are proud to bring music therapy services to over 500 preschool through Grade 12 students in over 13 school districts in the Greater Rochester area.
