Intro to Songwriting

Have you ever wanted to write your own song? In this creative and supportive class, participants will explore the art of songwriting through fun, hands-on activities designed to spark imagination and build confidence. Through playful exercises and guided prompts, students will learn how songs come together—from developing lyrical ideas to creating simple melodies and musical structures.

Each week will introduce new ways to experiment with rhythm, melody, storytelling, and emotion in music. Participants may work individually or collaborate with others as they discover how everyday experiences, feelings, and ideas can be transformed into original songs.

No prior musical experience is required. This class is designed to be welcoming and accessible for a wide range of abilities, with a focus on connection, self-expression, and enjoying the process of making music.
