Hi there! My name is Noa Ferguson – I’m a board-certified music therapist, and one of the Founders and Directors of Spectrum Creative Arts.

My path to music therapy is a combination of a personal and serendipitous one: Growing up, music therapy was a part of my brother’s life in his developmental journey. Fast forward to undergrad: I was initially a vocal performance major, and was intrigued by an elective course called “Intro to Music Therapy.” After the first class, I knew I had to interview for the major!

I’m a proud alum of Berklee College of Music in Boston (B.M.) and University of Rochester (M.S). In my master’s studies, I delved deeper into Developmental Psychology, curious to further my understanding of how the human brain operates and develops over time, and how that knowledge can better inform my work as a clinician.

When I’m not in session with students in the clinic or in local school districts, I’m working with our national music therapy organization as a representative to our region’s membership committee, and the co-chair of the national technology committee. I feel injustice deeply and am passionate about breaking down barriers to accessing enriching experiences for both the students I work with, and the clinicians I work alongside. I’m similarly passionate about educating current and future generations of music therapists, providing them with supportive tools to ensure the provision of excellent music-centered therapeutic experiences for their clients and students.

Work “stuff” aside, I LOVE kids – being a parent is one of my favorite parts of my personal identity. I love spending time with my little family, and doing nothing at all at home can feel thrilling! I love exploring local eateries and visiting the Finger Lakes wine region every year. I also enjoy eating ethnic foods and traveling to new places, and love visiting my huge extended family in Israel.

Fun fact: I first met Wade, my business partner, when I studied under him as his intern… and I first met Megan, my other business partner, when I started that internship with Wade… as her co-intern! Maintaining genuine relationships is really important to me, and I feel fortunate to get to morph my close friendships with Wade and Megan into a lifelong experience that, I hope, can create meaningful change in our world.
