Hi there! My name is Noa Ferguson – I’m a board-certified music therapist, and one of the Founders and Directors of Spectrum Creative Arts. I oversee Spectrum’s Schools Division, providing music therapy services to students in preschool through Grade 12/transition programs in school districts throughout the Greater Rochester Area.

My path to music therapy is a combination of a personal and serendipitous one: Growing up, music therapy was a part of my brother’s life in his developmental journey. Fast forward to undergrad: I was initially a vocal performance major, and was intrigued by an elective course called “Intro to Music Therapy.” After the first class, I knew I had to interview for the major!

I’m a proud alum of Berklee College of Music in Boston (B.M.) and University of Rochester (M.S). In my master’s studies, I delved deeper into Developmental Psychology, curious to further my understanding of how the human brain operates and develops over time, and how that knowledge can better inform my work as a clinician.

Over the past 11 years, cultivating Spectrum’s growth into the community support it has become has been a labor of love. I feel so fortunate to oversee and provide therapeutic services to students in schools, and work alongside our team of dedicated, caring, and thoughtful clinicians.

When I’m not in session with students in local school districts, I LOVE being with my own kids – being a parent is one of my favorite parts of my personal identity. I love spending time with my family, and doing nothing at all at home can feel thrilling (albeit challenging with young kiddos)! If you see me around Rochester, you’ll likely see lots of little feet stomping alongside me… but please, say hello!
