This page is home to all of the materials you will need for Guitar Group: Spring 2021!

You can use this page to listen to the playlist of the music we are learning this semester, learn background info on the songs, and to practice your parts in between classes. When each song is completed, a video will be uploaded here for you to watch and enjoy with your family!

“Dancing on my Own” was originally written by the Swedish singer-songwriter, Robyn, and released in 2010. It has since been covered by several famous artists including Britain’s Got Talent winner, Calum Scott, whose accompanying music video released in 2016 has been viewed over 400 million times.

“Last Train to Clarksville” written by The Monkees in 1966, was initially inspired by and written in response to The Beatles. The famous “Oh-no-no-no” line was actually intended to be a response to The Beatles’ “Yeah Yeah Yeah”!

“Any Dream Will Do” is the opening number in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream coat, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s 1968 Rock opera, and gives a broad overview of Joseph’s characters.

Winter Class Materials

“Walking On Sunshine” was written in 1983 by Katrina and the Waves. The song was originally written as a ballad but Katrina decided she wanted a more upbeat and lighthearted feel to the song which led to the ultimate feel good song we know and love today!

Written by Plain White T’s in 2010, this single peaked at number 38 on the Billboard Top 100. Lopez (songwriter) stated that he wanted to keep the song sounding light and gentle, so they stuck to focusing on the “island-y” guitar sound.

Rhythm of Love parts

“Here Comes the Sun” was written by The Beatles in 1969. It was released on the album Abbey Road. The lyrics of the song talk about the relief of spring time coming back and look toward brighter days!

Eye of the Tiger” was written by Survivor, and released in 1982. The song was nominated for Song of the Year, but lost to the Willie Nelson hit “Always on My Mind”. It was also featured in the film Rocky III.
